In 2016, Daniela Pălimariu with other artists, she opened Sandwich, an atypical artspace in Bucharest. Sandwich uses the hidden potential of a residual space in-between two utilitarian buildings, with the atypical proportion of 1.5 by 8 meters. It is located in an industrial area of Bucharest (Combinatul Fondului Plastic), within the nordic periphery of the city, and perceived as hard-to-reach. Starting from the assumption that any restraint is a resource for finding the ultimate solution, sandwich converts the characteristics of the chosen space into constructive limits and challenges a series of site-specific projects and installations.
