Wojciech Bąkowski was born in 1979 Poznan, PL, lives and works in Warsaw, PL studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Poznan. His work has been shown (among others) in New Museum, New York (2009), Schmela Haus, Kunstsammlung Nordhein-Westfalen, Dusseldorf (2012), Museum Morsbroich, Leverkusen (2013), Museum of Modern Art, Warsaw (2013). Apart of being visual artist, he is also a poet and a musician. Word, sound and image are Bąkowski’s basic vocabulary and in consequence occasionally become the content of his work. In 2015 he was awarded the Grand Prize the 61st International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Germany. His films were presented at film festivals in Toronto, Vienna, Wrocław, Ann Arbour and on individual screening at Anthology Film Archives, NYC
