Tomek Baran (born 1985) is a graduate of the Painting Faculty at the Fine Arts Academy in Cracow. In his paintings, he uses industrial materials, sprays and lacquers, creating monochrome surfaces which at the same time reflect and distort the reality. He turns images into objects by stretching canvases on curvilinear frames. He excludes any mimesis or reference to the outside world, making the pure, abstract form the centre of his interest.
