Karolina Mełnicka is born in 1988 in Toruń. She graduated in cultural studies from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (2010) and multimedia from the Faculty of Painting and New Media at the Academy of Art in Szczecin (2016). Her artistic explorations can be described as conceptual critical art, exploring the influence of technology on individual identity and the mechanisms of top-down planned reality. She is particularly interested in observing methods of designing spaces or ideas for a mass audience. She is the co-founder of the duo “Nomadic State”, which she formed for several years together with Stach Szumski. She works with animation, object, performance and sound. She lives and works in Warsaw.
