Hubert Czerepok

Hubert Czerepok was born in 1973. He is a central figure of the new Polish critical minimalist art, the author of installations, objects and films. He studied at University of Fine Arts in Poznań, at Jan van Eyck Academie in Maastricht and at Higher Institute for Fine Arts in Antwerp.  In his works, Hubert Czerepok takes up the subject of human condition, the nature of evil, oppression, history as a construct, a conglomeration of facts and fiction as well as civilisation and its achievements as a conglomerate of science, faith, magic, and unexplained paranormal events. Critical approach and a sense of humour are usually seen in his pieces. The artist often uses facts in a perverse and non-obvious way. He mixes them with fiction, creating paradocuments and tracking conspiracy theories as well as alternative history paths.
