Andrea Éva Győri was born in 1983, died in 2022, graduated in painting from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. Although painting prevailed in her oeuvre, her art matured over the years and in the course of further education and residencies in Stuttgart, South-Korea and Maastricht, with a multimedia approach and the practice of collaborative art gaining more and more emphasis. Her artistic practice revolved around the connection between the body and the psyche, seen as a reaction to personal and social processes. Her intimate, process-based and often performative works unfolded through the media of drawing, video performance and sculpture. Győri lived and worked in Rotterdam.
