1970 born in Montenegro. He lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. The subtle subject matter and images of Duravcevic’s works are rooted in his personal experiences of living through the changing political landscape of his native Montenegro. Growing up with a lineage of conflicting cultures and religions in what was then Yugoslavia, and having to experience war and emigration to America later on, the artist is interested in presenting duality in his work. A process of his own search for identity. Duravcevic uses his deep wealth of knowledge of all aspects of history for the metaphors that become the subject of his work.
