VCS (Vocal Curatorial Syndrome) is post-curatorial performative duo consisted of art historians Senka Latinovic and Vladimir Bjelicic. Based on the strategy of active criticism, VCS aims to rethink curatorial practice in the sense of its class, gender, ethical and aesthetical positioning within the local context, as well as global. The phenomenon of professional (un)sustainability or the inability to establish a symbolic or real capital in the art system of transitional society was the starting premise of VCS 's work. Via performative methods of appropriation, manipulation and humour, the duo tries to mimic different models of social behaviour which are reflecting the absurdity of the present moment we live in.
