Vladimíra Büngerová

Art historian. She graduated in art history and culture from Trnava University in Trnava (1995 –2000). Vladimíra Büngerová specialises in modern and contemporary art history, theory and criticism, including applied arts and design. She worked as an art historian and curator of the collection of fine and applied arts (2000 – 2005) in the Malokarpatské múzeum in Pezinok. Büngerová was an assistant curator of the collection of the First Slovak Investment Group in Bratislava (2003 – 2005). In cooperation with regional galleries in Slovakia, she prepared several exhibition projects (Považská galéria umenia in Žilina, Nitrianska galéria in Nitra, Mestská galéria in Rimavská Sobota, Galéria Cypriána Majerníka in Bratislava, Východoslovenská galleria in Košice). Büngerová mainly focuses on writing about contemporary art, design and applied arts. In 2007 – 2009 she worked as a curator of the collection of applied art and design (glass, design) and since 2010 she has worked as a curator of the Modern and Contemporary Art Collection at the Slovak National Gallery in Bratislava, specialising in Slovak sculpture, its past and the present.
