Vanja Žanko

Vanja Žanko, born in Zagreb in 1980, graduated art history from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb. She finished curatorial studies at the World of Art School, Institute of Contemporary Art in Ljubljana. She worked as the chief curator of the Filip Trade Collection and its project space Lauba House in Zagreb. Since 2013, she is a freelance curator and the president of Nomad, a non-profit organization she established with artists Jasmina Cibic, Igor Eškinja, Kristian Kožul, Zlatan Vehabović and Damir Žižić. She is the founder of Nomad Weekend Residency Program, based in Zagreb. She was the recipient of the EUNIC award for emerging cultural managers, and the ICroMe project grant, IUAV International University of Venice. Moreover, she is a jury member of different art prizes in Croatia: Vladimir Nazor Award, Erste Fragments and Drava Art Biennial. She is a board member of Croatian branch of ICOM.
