Jovanka Popova (b. Skopje, 1980) is a curator, art historian at the Museum of Contemporary Art Skopje and program coordinator at the Press to Exit project space. She has curated exhibitions in the contemporary art field in Macedonia and worked on many international projects. She serves on the board of the West Balkan Residency Program coordinated by Association for Contemporary Art, Graz and apexart, New York. She is executive director of JADRO Association of the independent cultural scene, Macedonia, and she is a president of the Macedonian Section of the AICA International Association of Art Critics. She has also participated and held lectures in several international conferences and workshops. She was the curator of the North Macedonian pavilion at Venice Biennale 2019 in the project Subversion to Red alongside with Tevž Logar, Artan Sadiku and Mira Gaćina. One of Popova’s recent curatorial project was a group show called All That We Have in Common which was organized in the frame of the 14th European Nomadic Biennial of Contemporary Art – MANIFESTA. It was held at the Museum of Contemporary Art – Skopje from the 8th of November till the 20th of February 2023.
