Borbála Szalai (b. 1983) is an art historian and curator. She is the gallery director at Trafó Gallery where she has been working as a curator at since 2012. She was a member of the curatorial team of the first OFF-Biennale Budapest in 2015 and she is a member of the management board of Curators' Network. She is also the editor of the Hungarian section of Artyčok.TV. In 2022 Szalai was the first to recive Jerger Krisztina Award with her project Nyitott műterem studio visit series —a curatorial response about COVID situation: instead of a closed gallery space, she created an online medium for artists and curators to meet. Emese Kürti Emese Kürti is an art historian, art critic and researcher based in Budapest. She is the head of Artpool Art Research Center, and deputy director for research at Central European Research Institute for Art History Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest. She is a member of the Hungarian Section of AICA and the NEP4Dissent international research network. Between 2009 and 2015 she worked at Ludwig Museum—Museum of Contemporary Art, after that from 2015 to September 2018 she was the head of acb ResearchLab in Budapest, conducting researches on the experimental art of the Cold War period. Her current research interests include neo-avant-garde art in Hungary, Eastern Europe and Yugoslavia, fluxus, action art, experimental poetry, performance art, minority issues and women's positions in the neo-avant-garde. Besides many other publications she is the author of Screaming Hole: Poetry, Sound and Action as Intermedia Practice in the Work of Katalin Ladik (2017).
